“No matter what life throws at me now, I know I can get through it.”
This season, Amanda Sobhy marked the end of her long-running injury nightmare by returning to court, building momentum with a series of increasingly impressive performances which culminated in being a crucial part of the Team USA squad that reached a second successive final at the WSF World Squash Team Championships.
During the championships, the first World Squash Team Championships to feature the men’s and women’s events together, Sobhy spoke to the Olympics.com media team about her US-Egyptian identity, how recovering from an eating disorder and two ruptured Achilles tendons had given her an unbreakable mindset, and why she could make more history at the LA 2028 Olympics.
