The Squash and Education Alliance (SEA) is excited to announce the addition of Nicol David Organisation (NDO) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as their newest international partner. NDO is an extraordinary youth development program that serves youth in Malaysia, fostering growth in both sport and personal development.
NDO is SEA’s seventh international partner and the second in Asia.
The Nicol David Organisation, founded in 2022 by eight-time World Champion Nicol David and former Colombian squash player, Mariana de Reyes, empowers women, children, and families through sport, education, mental health, and community advancement.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, the nonprofit serves 140 children from low- to middle-income families with squash training, English tutoring, life skills workshops, and robotics education.
“Through this partnership, we are excited to bring squash to even more communities and provide young people with the resources they need to succeed both on and off the court,” said Nicol David.
“The power of sport to instil discipline, teamwork, and resilience aligns perfectly with the mission of the Nicol David Organisation, and we look forward to seeing the tremendous impact we can make together with SEA.”
SEA has long used squash as a vehicle for educational success, providing mentorship, academic support, and postsecondary support to young people from underrepresented communities.
This partnership with the Nicol David Organisation will expand SEA’s reach internationally while drawing on David and De Reyes’s expertise. In turn, the Nicol David Organisation will benefit from SEA’s network and experience in educational programming and community-building.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the Nicol David Organisation as our seventh international partner,” said Tim Wyant, Executive Director of SEA.
“By working together with NDO, SEA can positively impact more youth in Asia and expand our international network.
“We are excited to see how SEA’s member organisations and international partners will learn from and be strengthened by NDO, and we hope that NDO will similarly benefit from building deeper relationships with its peer organisations around the world.”
Founded in 2005, SEA is the umbrella organisation and governing body for a network of 21 U.S. member organisations and seven international partners that combine squash, academics, mentoring, and college prep support for over 2,500 students from under-resourced communities.
SEA and the Nicol David Organisation are committed to their shared mission of driving social change and creating lasting impact. Together, both organisations will promote academic achievement, life skills, and athletic development for youth in communities with limited access to these opportunities.
They look forward to launching joint initiatives in the coming months to inspire and uplift youth worldwide.
